Former Employees of Government Contractor Reach Pre-Litigation Settlement in Unpaid Severance Dispute
Employees of a government contractor successfully negotiated a pre-litigation agreement with their former employer to pay promised severance payments to them and more than 300 of their former colleagues. The contractor agreed to pay millions of dollars in withheld severance payments and Murphy Anderson’s legal fees.
The contractor’s severance policy provided that laid-off workers would receive one week’s pay for each year of employment. Notwithstanding that, the contractor failed to make those payments to its laid-off workers.
Murphy Anderson successfully represented our clients in a pre-litigation resolution of the class-wide dispute. Under the settlement, all affected employees will receive 100% of the severance owed to them, a victory for hundreds of workers who dedicated years of their lives to that contractor.
Murphy Anderson attorneys Mark Hanna, Arlus Stephens, Jennifer Vail, and David Rodwin worked on the case.
