Murphy Anderson Welcomes Emily Kaplan and Meredith Gudesblatt
Emily Kaplan and Meredith Gudesblatt have joined Murphy Anderson as our 2025 summer Peggy Browning Fellows.
Emily Kaplan graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Government & Politics and Economics. After college, she worked progressive campaigns before joining Jewish Voice for Peace Action, a multiracial, intergenerational movement of Jews and allies working towards justice equality for Palestinians and Israelis.
Emily’s commitment to workers’ rights began when she served on the JVP Union bargaining committee, where she helped negotiate the union’s first collective bargaining agreement, securing critical workplace changes. This experience inspired her to pursue a legal career supporting workers.
As a rising third-year student at the University of North Carolina School of Law, Emily is the Vice President of the Labor and Employment Law Association, an Articles and Notes Editor for the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, and a member of the Holderness Moot Court Team.
Meredith Gudesblatt completed her B.A. at Cornell University in 2012 and her M.A. in Spanish with Middlebury College in 2019. Meredith worked as an immigration paralegal for a decade before entering Harvard Law School, where she is a rising third-year student
As a 2L, Meredith was a student attorney in the immigration and crimmigration clinics, served as a student article writing editor for The Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review (CR-CL), and co-chaired the Harvard Women’s Law Association public interest.
