Murphy Anderson Attorneys Speak at National Conferences

Michael T. Anderson recently spoke at the 13th Annual Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund Conference on a panel called "Winning and Defending FCA Verdicts: A Case Study of U.S. ex rel. Absher v. Momence Meadows Nursing Ctr., Inc.  Michael focused on defending False Claims Act verdicts before courts of appeal. The conference was held in Washington, DC from October 23rd through October 25th, 2013.

Ann Lugbill was a panelist at the National Employment Lawyers Association conference on whistleblower and retaliation claims.  Ann gave an overview of qui tam cases for new and veteran whistleblower attorneys.  She also moderated a panel on identifying and filing IRS whistleblower cases and representing IRS whistleblowers.  The conference was held in Washington, DC on October 18th and 19th, 2013.

Earlier in the month, Ann spoke to the Kentucky Employment Lawyers Association about whistleblower and qui tam cases at a CLE course on October 9th, 2013 at Keenland Thoroughbred Racing.  Ann also was a panelist for a DC Bar CLE on October 15th, 2013 titled: Changing Currents in Employment Law 2013: Recent Trends and Developments.  Ann spoke on new whistleblower protections under the False Claims Act, the Affordable Care Act, and the FY13 National Defense Authorization Act.

Mark Hanna spoke about the False Claims Act for the "Overview of Whistleblower Claims" panel at the American Bar Association's 7th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference in New Orleans from November 6th through 9th, 2013. Mark also was an instructor at the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee (LCC) litigation workshop in December 2013.
