Murphy Anderson Wins Important Arbitration Decision on Behalf of Postal Police Officers

Arlus Stephens, a Murphy Anderson partner, today won an important arbitration decision on behalf of the Postal Police Officers Association. 

Arbitrator Barry Simon agreed with the union that the Postal Service improperly decided to curtail the officers' law-enforcement jurisdiction away from postal real estate.  The union's members previously were assigned to street patrols to protect U.S. mail and to protect letter carriers from crime while performing their duties. 

Arbitrator Simon ordered the Postal Service to rescind the change to restore their authority.
