D.C. Judge Approves Settlement for All Damages in DCWPCL Prevailing Wage Case

A D.C. Superior Court judge today approved a settlement in Romero et al. v. HEP Construction Inc. et al. The case sought to recover unpaid wages at the applicable prevailing wage rate on behalf of a group of construction workers who worked on a federal office building renovation project.  

The parties reached a settlement of more than $250,000 that fully compensated four workers for their lost wages, plus treble damages and attorneys’ fees. As a result of the lawsuit, Defendants also paid 14 other workers for their unpaid wages.

Murphy Anderson attorneys Mark Hanna, Roseann R. Romano, and Wes Turner represented the Plaintiffs. The case is Romero et al. v HEP Construction, et al., 2020 CA 003755 B (D.C. Super. Ct.).
