Murphy Anderson partner Mark Hanna and associate Adam Breihan recently moderated panels at the National Employment Lawyers Association’s (NELA) Spring Seminar entitled, “New Issues, Creative Solutions: Emerging Issues in Wage & Hour Law.”

Mark Hanna, along with co-panelists Reena Desai of Nichols Kaster and Shannon Liss-Riordan of Lichten & Liss-Riordan, presented on recent legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments concerning the misclassification of workers as independent contractors.

Adam Breihan and his co-panelists, Sally Dworak-Fisher of the Public Justice Center and Mariko Yoshihara of the California Employment Lawyers Association, explored recent trends in state and local wage and hour law, including legislative efforts to increase the costs of employer non-compliance, bolster enforcement mechanisms, and eliminate hurdles to workers pursuing their rights.
