Mark Hanna Urges Biden Administration to Clarify Wage and Hour Exemption Rules

Murphy Anderson’s Mark Hanna was quoted in a Law360 article examining overtime exemptions within the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
“If you’re making less than $80,000 or $75,000, you shouldn’t have to deal with [overtime exemptions]. You should always be eligible for overtime.”
Hanna argued that clarification of workers was “blatant” and that “very tricky rules” hurt workers.
“The clearer the rules, the more likely the employees will know their rights.”
Hanna also decried the overtime exemptions for agricultural and domestic workers as racist.
