Renee Gerni

Renee Gerni has been representing labor unions and their employee benefit plans since 2007. Renee’s experience includes litigation in federal courts on behalf of international and local unions, as well as employee benefit funds. She has experience representing labor unions before the National Labor Relations Board, the Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has also advised pension, health and apprenticeship funds on a wide range of issues, including compliance with ERISA, various employment discrimination laws and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Renee’s current practice includes representing plaintiffs in class-action wage and hour cases and whistleblowers in False Claims Act and IRS whistleblower cases.

As a law student Renee was an Articles Editor for the American University Law Review and a Student Attorney in the Federal Tax Clinic. Prior to attending law school, Renee worked for the Legal Aid Society of New York City.

Renee is a regular volunteer with the D.C. Employment Justice Center.
