Keira McNett represents labor unions, individual workers and employee benefit plans in all aspects of labor and employment law.
Keira has successfully represented unions in federal litigation, arbitrations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. She advises multi-employer pension and health and welfare plans on issues such as compliance with state and federal laws, litigation of subrogation claims, and qualifying domestic relations orders. She also has experience representing individual plan participants in ERISA litigation. Keira's employment law experience includes successfully arguing before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in Fred A. Smith Management Co. v. Cerpe, 957 A.2d 907 (D.C. 2008), a decision that ruled for her client and also established important new standards regarding sexual harassment and workplace retaliation. The Cerpe decision was also Murphy Anderson's first appellate win as a new law firm.
During law school, Keira served as an articles editor for the Georgetown Law Journal. After graduation, she clerked for Judge Ronna Beck of the District of Columbia Superior Court.
